Welcome to North Allerdale Development Trust

Established in 2008, the North Allerdale Development Trust (NADT) is a registered charity (1131992) dedicated to strengthening communities across the Solway Plain. We support and develop projects that create opportunity, enhance local facilities, and improve quality of life for residents — with a strong and growing focus on young people.

We believe in the potential of young people and are committed to helping them build skills, confidence, and connections within their community. Alongside this, our wider work focuses on:

• Providing and maintaining inclusive community spaces
• Supporting and strengthening the voluntary sector
• Reducing unemployment through skills development and training
• Promoting education and lifelong learning for all

Wigton Market Hall – At the Heart of Our Work

We proudly run Wigton Market Hall, a vibrant conference and community centre at the heart of the town. Since 2010, it has been a welcoming hub for events, activities, and local initiatives — bringing people together and creating opportunities for the whole community, particularly young people.
